About Sam Diaz

Sam Diaz is a professional content and communications expert whose experience has spanned all forms of news media, as well as corporate marketing and communications teams.

For nearly two decades, Sam was a professional journalist, writing for The Washington Post, San Jose Mercury News, CBS Interactive/ZDNet and The Fresno Bee. For many of those years, he explained complex consumer, enterprise and infrastructure technologies to both general and specialty audiences. His writing styles have included straight news, opinion, analysis and real-time coverage of events and breaking news.

As a marketing and communications professional, Sam advised corporate clients on content strategies, led the teams that built corporate newsrooms, blogs and social media channels from the ground-up, worked hand-in-hand with branding, event and executive comms teams on company initiatives and priorities. He has created crisis communications plans, social media campaigns and editorial calendars and developed content strategies for trade shows, special events and launches.

He has also led training sessions to help executives and other communications professionals to enhance their writing styles, improve their interviewing skills and maximize the potential for social media engagement.

Sam is a champion for diversity and inclusion. He is a lifetime member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and a past officer for the California Chicano News Media Association. At HP Inc., he led efforts to launch a Hispanic Employees Resource Group.
